Discoveries

Every bottle of regular soda we had in the house was flat…only the non sugar kind had any fizz.  The pantry was cleaned out.

After X amount of time pancake syrup grows mold on the top even if it is stored in the fridge. Cleaning out the fridge is now on my list of things to do.  One nasty discovery may lead to another and expiration dates will be checked.

The walk to the mailbox is getting slick.  Especially the gradual decline to the actual mailbox…I discovered that the newly fallen snow at the edge of the road made a soft spot to land.  Chance came over to see what was the matter and Far Guy wanted me to get up right away…well I needed just a moment to figure out if anything important was broken.  Nothing was… but I am a tad stiff and sore.

Chance likes the black sunflower seeds and if left to his own devices will stand under the bird feeder and eat them…probably another source of his recent bout with pancretitis.  He cannot be trusted alone outside. He knows he is not supposed to eat them…but apparently he has forgotten in his old age.

Glad you weren't too badly hurt from the fall.

Dogs will be dogs, and they'll eat things they know they shouldn't if they think they can get away with it.

Glad you weren't hurt when you fell. Better to lie there for a minute and check things out first. I went down on my butt a while ago - stepped off the front porch and my feet when flying. Just glad I have some padding on my rear. I was sore for a few days but nothing serious.

Do be careful it hurts to fall. I'd skip the mail for a day or so, mines mostly junk anyway.

Falling sucks. I'm glad you had a relatively soft landing spot and no serious injury. Oh, the stuff dogs will eat....I've seen ours poking around under the bird feeder too. So much for feeding them a grain free diet ;-) Looks like you have lots of snow, well as you have been saying!

Invest in snowshoes or Yak Tracks. It is my only saving grace in the winter time. I literally velcro them to my chore boots. Our driveway is on an 15% grade ... 150 ft to the ridge. LOL on Chance. Morris would eat anything. I am happy you didn't hurt yourself!
Be careful! Hopefully you get the huge thaw that we should get today.

Happy to hear that nothing was broken when you fell. I'm not fond of ice, especially if there a bit of snow on top. I'm terrified I'll fall and mess up my new knee.

Oh, no! Hooper cat eats everything, and he has the best nose for food, too!

Glad you didn't break anything. I know the feeling. I've fallen three times lately...and we don't have any snow or ice. The snow looks deep there where Chance is standing. Our little Weetie eats the corn I put out for the ducks.

So glad nothing was broken. Do be careful out there!

Ouch.... hope you aren't too badly bruised. Seems even extra "padding" on my hips doesn't stop them from being bruised when I fall.

I'm so glad you were NOT hurt badly. A broken bone would be such a set back now!

Glad you are not broken, sure don't need that.

Glad you didn't break anything . Our snow is all gone and we are spring like here now and temps and sun are warm thank goodness . Our spring birds are back to . Miggs used to eat the oiled sunflower seed and got very ill from it years ago so we moved it all where she cant get to it and all has been good . Hope you all get spring like weather there soon and hope Chance stops eating the seed . Thanks for sharing take it easy eh ?! and have a good day !

YIKES! To your fall. Important to be very, very careful. Broken hips would be awful. Chance sounds like quite the adventurer!! Stay warm!

Hi Connie - hope you are OK all over after falling, snow is NOT really that soft but better to land on snow than ice. Chance is not going to be pleased that his snack outside will be cut off but his body will feel better. Hi to Far Guy.

Oh no! Falls on the ice are just awful! Glad you didn't break anything. I took falls a lot easier 20 years ago--LOL! It's supposed to be on the edge of freezing for days so we'll get lots of melting and freezing. Please be extra careful--all of you!

So sorry to hear that you fell. Hope you are not too sore. I hate cleaning out the fridge. I used to have nightmares that I left something in it too long and one of the kids ate it and got sick. It seems like things get pushed behind other food and then totally forgotten.

Sorry about the fall. Yes, we are fragile and can break. Yes, I go through the best before dates quite often.

Never would have believed that sealed bottles of soda would go flat, but it happened to us with our stockpile of Vernor's Ale, so we learned that lesson the hard way.

Didn't like reading that you fell. Glad to hear you ended up with only soreness.

Sorry to hear you fell, but glad you didn't break anything.
I have also found that Salsa goes moldy in the fridge too. My DIL buys extra big jugs of it ( that are not see-through) and because the top opening is relatively small one cannot see if there is mold. Makes me verrry uncomfortable.

Ooops! Falling is not fun, even in fluffy snow.

Glad you had a soft spot to land on, and I can understand why FG wanted you to get up right away to know you were all right. You will be stiff and sore but hopefully nothing broken. :-)

Oh dear I am glad you had a soft spot to land but I doubt it was that soft. Falling hurts! Rest up

My little dog loves the sunflower seeds that fall from the bird feeder too. I would like to find how to feed the birds without him eating the fallen seeds. The mixed seeds are fine. I am glad you found some snow cushion for your fall.

Glad you're okay! It didn't get icy here this year and I'm glad because I couldn't find my Yak Tracs. I think we all get forgetful...the kids will tell me things that happened when they were little and I don't remember it at all. So, it's nice they tell me....how could I forget? Yet I remember things that mean nothing to no one....crazy or senile?
